INS at the Public Sector Show

By Nicola Vass - 20th March 2018  |  Government

Every year 1,000 public sector professionals gather in Canberra with the aim of delivering a smarter, more sustainable government. The conference is called the Public Sector Show and it will be held on March 27. The focus of Public Sector Show is around transforming people, processes, tools and technology for a better government.

INS is proud to be delivering a roundtable on the day. The topic to be covered is:

“How supporting your employees’ career development through Capability Frameworks and Attribute-Based Learning will help to shape Workforces of the Future.”

This topic is one which resonates with INS. The future is unpredictable. There are many things that we can anticipate. Some of these will come to fruition, but many of them will not. For example, artificial intelligence is said to replace entire job categories, but the extent of this is unknown. One thing is certain, the employment landscape is changing. Regardless of technological advances, some human behaviours cannot be replicated by machines.

This makes it crucial that the public sector’s senior managers stay ahead of trends. Managers need to attract, engage, develop and reward talented employees across a spectrum of core attributes. Using capability frameworks and attribute-based learning can form a powerful duo for organisations to structure and develop their workforce. They provide a means for adapting to anything the future will throw at them. INS will be producing a whitepaper on this topic which will be published next week.

We look forward to seeing everyone in Canberra on March 27. If you are attending the Public Sector Show, be sure to visit us at Stand S10! If you are unable to attend but are interested to learn about Workforces for the Future, download our whitepaper or contact us today.
